... and I would soar
This was started as a study of the back when a person is bending, and the morphed into a dancer.
As I was drawing this, I was strongly reminded, and influenced, by a book I read as a child. The book is all in black and white and tells the story of a ballet dancer from the time she first started as a young girl, to her performance in Swan Lake to her years as an older woman teaching ballet. I remember that she always wore a black leotard while others wore white and grey. I can't remember the name and really want to find the book again.
As a couple of side notes - her hands took so long, but came out wonderfully and ballet slippers are a lot harder to draw than you think they are.
